Roses are red, and our Sherman tanks are purple and gold. I’ve heard my rhymes are a bit funny, but they may be getting a little old. We know we are tank tough we’ve heard it many times but going to school when nobody else does can be rough. However, as I’m on the roads, trying to make my way, we always have to remember it’s important to be safe. Take today to and make it great for you because there’s no school at the U! No school today, February 20, 2025 Yes, you admit that’s not too bad of a rhyme on the fly. I guess I’ll have to keep giving it a try! Go Tanks!

I appreciate and respect the work of Mr. Fitch and the MS staff on their consistent improvements! Great job!! As expected, our art students put on a show at the Pump House last week! The student work was exceptional! So impressed with our students and a big big thank you to Ann VanVoorhis for all of her work and commitment to our art program and students. Honorable mentions: Natalie Depugh, Grace McBee, Keegan Potts, Maggie Holbert, Brenn Martin, Haley Self, Ella Pelfrey. First Place: Lizzie Slack & Best of Show: Maggie Holbert. Great Job!! Alright, folks, I know what you're thinking—another extended weekend with no school on Monday? Disappointing, right? But here's the twist: instead of sulking about the Monday off, I encourage you to focus on gratitude! Yes, gratitude. Life can be tough, but trust me, there's always something to be thankful for, even if it’s just the fact that you don’t have to wake up early on Monday. Start each day by reflecting on 3-4 blessings or at least one! You’ll be amazed at how this simple habit, practiced daily, will transform you into a more positive and appreciative person. Here’s the kicker—you have heard me say before you have the power to choose your mindset. Will you adopt habits of positivity, responsibility, and friendliness? Or will you let negativity, complaining, and bitterness of others take the wheel? Spoiler alert: the choice is yours! Even on those extended weekends when school is mysteriously absent, or those Mondays that somehow disappear from the calendar, find the silver lining. Gratitude is like your personal superhero (mine is Batman) against victimhood and resentment—it swoops in to save the day and protect you from the negativity that tries to sneak in. We all know it’s easy to fall into the trap of focusing on the bad stuff. But when life throws challenges your way, remember that you are way stronger than you think. And if you happen to stumble or fail, don’t sweat it—every misstep is one step closer to the best version of YOU. Oh, and by the way, it may be a bit chilly out there with limited sunshine this time of year, but remember: it’s your choice to carry your own weather. Be the sunshine, be a force for gratitude, spread some positivity around, and be a coffee bean! Go Tanks!

Students remember the importance of making good choices, carrying their own weather, and focusing on your best of you. Remember things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out! Don’t count the days make the days count! Always place your becoming ahead of your current being. If you are going to quit anything quit being a quitter! There are things you know you could be doing to be your best you. Go the extra mile it is never crowded and discipline today leads to options tomorrow. And lastly, never sacrifice what you could be for what you are. Oh and by the way I bet you didn’t know I was an accomplished poet. I have many rhymes at my disposal. Let's try this one today!! Roses are red, violets are blue, the white snow and especially the ice means - NO school at the U for U. You know I don’t like to cancel schoooo so please utilize the day to be a better U!! No school today and I am sorry but I can’t yea!. No school today, Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Go Tanks!!
